How to get there
Lofoten is served by three small airports: Leknes Airport, Svolvær Airport Helle, and Røst Airport which mainly offers flights to Bodø. Harstad/Narvik Airport, Evenes has direct flights to Oslo and Trondheim. From Narvik the the transfer time y bus to Lofoten is approx. 2,5 hours. Bodø is often used as a hub for travel to Lofoten; in addition to air travel there is a ferry connecting Bodø to Moskenes. There is also a ferry connecting Svolvær to Skutvik in Hamarøy, with road connection east to E6. The world famous Coastal Express “Hurtigruten” calls at Stamsund and Svolvær

Lofoten is a place where you definitely won’t get bored. The arctic scenery that fills your senses while arriving at Lofoten opens your mind and invites you to fantastic nature experiences. Try kayaking or go with fast RIB boats exploring the surroundings. Stay in the old cosy fishermen cabins called “Rorbu” that have been refurbished to meet the modern travelers demands.
Go hiking in the mountains or take a bike through the arctic nature. Head out on the sea for a killer whale safari. Or sit down at one of the cosy restaurants and enjoy a freshly caught fish prepared in a traditional way.
Good to know
Lofoten has one of the warmest climates in the world although being situated this far north. This is due to the Gulf stream and it’s extensions. Lofoten lies in northern Norway above the arctic circle. This together with its location makes Lofoten a really special destination!
